England Fencing is responsibility for coach education in England and fencers wishing to gain the status of qualified Fencing Coach or currently established coaches wishing to increase their knowledge or level of qualification, need to follow the new national training scheme. The requirements for this, at each level, are delivered through Coach Educators. Qualification is by final assessment of a panel of examiners following a training period in the appropriate weapon.
Prior to attending any training, candidates need to register their intention to study under the England Fencing Coach Development Scheme. |
Coach Education Apprenticeships As an alternative to running set courses the Fencing Salle is now offering Coaching Apprenticeships to candidates wishing to work for both initial and higher grades, who are willing to make a commitment to the development of the club.
This period of training would incorporate the England Fencing Coach Education Course syllabus levels 1 and 2 in all weapons but can continue on to level 4. Assessments are done as required during the sessions with a final Panel convened when the student is ready.
